Enhance Community Collaboration

Building a thriving community starts with a strong, collaborative school system. By fostering partnerships between our school system, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations, we can create a support network that benefits the educational success of our students. Our goal is to organize community events that bring together diverse groups, encouraging meaningful interactions and shared educational goals. These events will not only highlight connectivity and resources but also strengthen the bonds that make our schools resilient and vibrant.  Moreover, we believe in the power of volunteerism to create a sense of belonging and purpose. By promoting volunteer opportunities within our schools, we can enhance civic engagement and foster a culture of giving. These efforts will not only enrich the lives of our students but also provide essential support to initiatives that improve the quality of life for all residents.

Expand Parent Engagement

Parents play a critical role in their children's education, and I am committed to driving inclusive parent engagement in our schools to a new generation of parents. By fostering a collaborative partnership between our schools, our families, and our community, we can support student success and community development. This involves creating innovative opportunities for parents to participate in education-supported school activities, decision-making processes of the school board, and parental educational programs. These events will be designed to accommodate diverse schedules and language needs, ensuring that all parents can participate fully. Our new generation of parents need support in connectivity through regular parent-coaching conferences, workshops, and information sessions that provide parents with the tools and knowledge they need to support their children's home learning. By keeping parents informed and engaged, we can build a stronger more connected educational community.

Promote Cradle to Career Pathways

Education is a lifelong journey that starts at birth, and I am committed to promoting cradle-to-career pathways that support our students at every stage of their development. My strategy includes supporting parents with home-schooling children from birth to pre-k and partnering with early childhood education programs to provide a strong foundation for future learning. By supporting initiatives that promote literacy and social skills from a young age, we can set our children on a path to academic success and lifelong achievement. I also plan to strengthen partnerships between schools, colleges, and local businesses to create seamless pathways from education to employment. This includes internships, apprenticeships, and vocational training programs that provide students with hands-on experience and valuable skills as early as middle school. By aligning educational outcomes with workforce needs, we can ensure that our students are well-prepared for successful careers.

Advocate for District Interests

All residents should be represented on our school board and in our schools. These are pivotal elements in preparing our students of Fayette County for the global stage. When the leadership mirrors the diversity of the student population, it ensures that a variety of perspectives are considered in decision-making processes. In today's Fayette County, it is essential that our schools and the board reflect the diversity of the communities they serve and promote an inclusive environment where every student and their families feels connected, valued, and respected. By embracing diversity, we can provide students with a rich educational experience that broadens their perspectives, fosters empathy, and equips them with the skills needed to thrive in a multicultural county. This includes not only academic excellence but also the ability to navigate and contribute to a diverse community. By embedding diversity and inclusion into the fabric of our educational system, we can cultivate a generation of leaders who are adept at working collaboratively across cultural boundaries. These efforts will ultimately strengthen our community, making it more vibrant, innovative, and competitive on the global stage.
